Seattle Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Program, for readers 18 and older, launched today with the fourth annual Summer Book Bingo which runs through September 3rd.
Pick up a Bingo Card at the Northeast Branch (6801 35th Avenue NE) or at any other neighborhood library or download a PDF.
Fill in a Bingo Card, by marking an entire row or all 25 squares with the titles and authors of the books you've read, and drop it any branch library, mail it to SAL, 340 15th Ave. E., Suite 301, Seattle, WA 98112, or by posting a photo using #BookBingoNW2017, on Facebook (@SeattlePublicLibrary @SeattleArtsAndLectures), Instagram (@seattleartsandlectures @seattlepubliclibrary) or Twitter (@SeaArtsLectures @SPLBuzzand, and have a chance to win a prize.
For book suggestions, ask a librarian, fill out a brief form at Your Next 5 Books and a librarian will email suggestions, or ask via Twitter (@SPLBuzz) or Facebook. Library staff will be writing about Book Bingo and recommending books all summer on the Shelf Talk blog.
How to win:
Blackout Card
Complete all 25 squares to be entered in the drawing for a library of books by 2017-18 authors and two tickets to the entire SAL 2017-18 season. Blackout cards will also be automatically entered in the bingo drawing (see below).
Bingo
Complete a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line to be entered into a drawing to win a gift card from one of nine independent book stores. Winning entries will be selected at random. Prizes may be collected at the Library location of your choice. Prizes include gift cards to Elliott Bay Book Company, Madison Books, Phinney Books, Queen Anne Book Company, Ravenna Third
Place Books, Secret Garden Books, Seward Park Third Place Books and University Book Store.
