Saturday Free Teen Career Workshop

A Laurelhurst resident and Laurelhurst Community Center Advisory Board member, would like to invite teens to a career workshop on Saturday.

Chrissy told the Laurelhurst Blog Staff:

The Laurelhurst Community Council is trying to offer more programs to serve and positively impact the youth in our community.  On Saturday from 10-2pm, there coming up in early February will be a  workshop with seven speakers from various professional fields in the Seattle area who will introduce their careers.
This will be an opportunity for teens to gain exposure to lines of work that may have otherwise been unfamiliar and help them form a better understanding of potential career paths.  Speakers are eager to share personal insights of their careers and what it’s really like to do their job, but also what they’ve learned about their skills, strengths, and weaknesses to help them along the way. Lunch will be provided.

The speakers include:
  • Physical Therapist at ATI Physical Therapy in U District
  • Director of Urban ArtWorks in SODO
  • Wealth Advisor, Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Private Bank
  • Owner of The Lounging Barber in Madrona
  • Primary School Teacher in Seattle Public School District
  • General Manager at Simon Property Group’s Seattle Premium Outlets
  • Client Service Representative and Veterinary Assistant at Queen Anne Animal Clinic
Register online, in-person at the Community Center Monday through Friday 9-2pm or by calling 684-7529.
