Neighborhood Master Birder Holding Birding Classes And Field Trip

Connie Sidles is a neighborhood birding expert and Master Birder, who maintains a blog documenting the many types of birds, including beautiful pictures, at the nearby Union Bay Natural Area, also known as the Montlake Fill, is having a field trip on Saturday as well as several classes.

The information says:

If you're an intermediate birder who wants to deepen your skills, then this class is for you. Together we will learn about the common birds in our area, including all their plumages, songs, chips, habits, and natural history so that you will truly *know* these birds.
Connie believes such intense knowledge will give you a strong foundation for furthering your birding skills. Future versions of this class will be offered in winter, spring, and summer.
This fall class will cover sparrows, wrens, ducks, year-round residents, and returning raptors, among others. In addition to three classroom sessions, Connie will lead one formal field trip where you can observe the birds studied in class.
Each season will also include a scavenger hunt, when we will divide into teams and search our area for targeted birds.
Connie also invites you along with her informally each Saturday of the month to help conduct shorebird surveys of Montlake Fill and observe the other birds of this beautiful site - one of the premier birding sites in the state, as well as join her on the last Sunday of each month to conduct a bird census of the site.

Field Trip: Saturday November 4th  (+ optional/informal scavenger hunt on November 18)
