Saturday Help With Planting New Trees At Magnuson On "Green Seattle Day"

The 13th annual Green Seattle Day is happening on Saturday starting at 9am at 13 Parks throughout the City.  Hundreds of volunteers will plant thousands of trees and other plants in "that will grow up to be the next generation of our urban forest" a Green Seattle volunteer told the Laurelhurst Blog staff.

The closest meeting place for volunteer work is Magnuson Park.  Volunteers will meet at the NE 65th Street park entrance.

The information given for this specific location is:
Join EarthCorps and Magnuson Park Forest Stewards at Magnuson Park, and be one of hundreds of volunteers planting thousands of plants in parks throughout the Emerald City! All community members are welcome, and no experience is necessary! The event is family friendly and open to all ages. Volunteers will plant trees and other plants that will become the future forest of the park. We hope that you will all lend a hand in the neighborhoods you live in and to volunteer at the closest park near you!

"We are excited for Green Seattle Day and look forward to volunteers coming out from all over the city to support their neighborhood greenspaces.  Green Seattle Day is a celebration of the forest that makes this the Emerald City. Help us keep it that way," a volunteer with the program said.
