UW Botanic Gardens’ Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st Street) is having a free class tonight from 6:30-7:30pm called "Bonsai 101: It's Easier Than You Think!"
The class information says:
Join Joel Schwarz of the Puget Sound Bonsai Association, and learn Bonsai 101! We'll cover a brief history of bonsai, including what exactly a bonsai is, and what kind of plants can be used.
We'll also look at how people create bonsai by wiring and pruning trees, how to care for them and the three major reasons people kill bonsai. We will also hear a bit about suiseki or viewing stones, which are frequently displayed with bonsai, as well as locations to view bonsai in the PNW.
RSVP Online, call 206-685-8033, or email urbhort@uw.edu.
