Why The Neighborhood Hood Lost Power During The Night

The Laurelhurst Blog received multiple reports from neighbors about losing power for about 90 minutes.  Seattle City Light reported that the cause of the outage was a "failed underground cable."

The power outage affected about 5,300 Seattle City Light customers including the Ravenna, Laurelhurst, and Windermere neighborhoods.

According to their Twitter page, power was restored about 12:20am to 1,800 customers and crews  restored power to remaining customers by 12:45am.  This was earlier than the 2am estimate City Light initially provided.
