This information was in the April Laurelhurst Community Club (LCC) newsletter submitted by the Friends of Yesler Swamp, a group which works at maintaining and upgrading Yesler Swamp, located in Laurelhurst bordered by NE 41st Street and Surber Drive.
Notice to Yesler Swamp Boardwalk Users
Many joggers are running on the new boardwalk through Yesler Swamp. Friends of Yesler Swamp asks everyone, please do not jog on the boardwalk.
The pin piles that support the boardwalk are “floating” on the peat bog beneath the trail. Jogging pounds them into the peat and will ruin the boardwalk.
This trail belongs to all of us. Please help make it last for generations of swamp lovers.
