In reviewing the September 2014 real estate numbers for the neighborhood, it is interesting to note that inventory is down 50%. Last year we had 8 new listings, this September only 4.
Exactly the same number of homes closed in 2014 as 2015 (5). Also, the median home price for sold properties for this September is slightly higher than last year. Days on market averaged 22 this September compared to 30 days last year, not surprising
based on our lack of inventory.
I'm hearing in the neighborhood that many owners thinking of moving to retirement or active living communities are on wait lists, with others just deciding to stay in their homes and getting assistance from outside agencies if necessary. Many also have second homes and are not ready to sell their primary residence. In the meantime buyers are plenty and many are focused on living in Laurelhurst.
