Holiday Activities This Week-End At Center For Urban Horticulture

Holiday Art and Gift Sale
Here are the activities happening at the Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st Street) this week-end:
 
Friday, December 5 – Tuesday, December 23

Get your shopping done early and support local artists!  Join us for a reception on Friday, December 5th. Exhibit and sale runs through December 23rd, we’ll have a selection of locally made arts and crafts available for purchase at the Miller Library.
Cash or Check only please! 25% of proceeds benefit the Miller Library.
Artists participating this year are:
BARBARA CLARK, carved ceramic tiles
• JENNY CRAIG, Notta Pixie Press, vintage letterpress cards and gifts
MOLLY HASHIMOTO, nature-inspired watercolor paintings, prints, cards and calendars
• ROBERTA MCDARIS LONG botanically themed monoprint cards and prints
• SYLVIA PORTILLO, The Human Hand Card Company, cards, prints, dioramas and botanically inspired, felted wool, wearable flowers

Saturday, December 6, 10am – 12pm

Want to add a bit of cheer to your home at the holidays?  Whether you are hosting a sit down dinner party, laying out a cocktail table or just decorating your coffee table, join in the fun by creating a custom holiday tablescape for your needs.  This class will focus on organic, sustainable, and edible ornamentation as the foundation. Participants will build and take home their own tablescape following a basic how-to presentation.
Cost: $40; $50 after November 29th

Birds are enchanting to watch in any season, and these stories show us birds enjoying winter weather. After the stories, make a bird feeder in the program room.
