Reader Urges Drivers To Slow Down In School Zone

We received this email:

A note to neighbors to please remember to drive slowly in the Laurelhurst Elementary school zone areas. Recently, I saw a car speeding at roughly 3:15pm in front of the school heading northbound on 46^th Avenue NE and then exiting the school zone area at a higher than normal speed. 

There are children exiting the building early to do patrol crossing duty as well as families and other children walking around the perimeter of the school and crossing the streets there. Adding rain and crowded parking conditions just makes this type of driving even more dangerous.
