Seattle Parks and Recreation’s is hosting the annual Big Day of Play Saturday, August 24th, from 10-3pm tomorrow at at Magnuson Park.
The information says:
It’s a fun way to get important information about health and wellness, enjoyable ways to become active, healthy food, and how recreation can change your life. Big Day of Play grew out of Parks’ Healthy Parks, Healthy You initiative, which aligns with national efforts such as First Lady Michele Obama’s Let’s Move! efforts.
Activities include:
- A 3-on-3 tournament
- Great Food, Fitness, Music & Fun
- Kid Zone, sponsored by Clif Kid
- Live performances by Recess Monkey and School of Rock
- NFL Play 60 obstacle course
- Fantastic water activities along the beach. Try out kayaks, stand up paddle boards and a giant 1- person canoe and more. - click here for a map to the beach

- Family Yoga Clinic
- PGA Northwest’s Kwik Golf and Golfzilla
- A dog agility course
- And much more!
Children's Hospital will also be having a free helmet fitting and giveaway event for kids at least 1 year old to age 18. And free multi-sport helmets available for children at least 5 years old to age 18. One helmet per child. Wearers must be present and be fitted to receive a helmet.
