Don't Miss One Night Only Show Of Laurelhurst Students Performing In "A Midsummer Night's Fantasy" Tomorrow Evening



Tomorrow at 7pm, several middle and highschool Laurelhurst students are acting in a one night only show, "A Midsummer Night's Fantasy," a musical fantasy based on Shakespeare's play, A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The Laurelhurst students, all of whom take piano and/or voice lessons from the Director, Celeste Axelson, are Logan P. as Puck, Zoe, Alina S. as Hermia, Katy T. as Mustardseed, and  Kate, Michael, Kylie, Scarlet, Frances, Lily, Leah, Erin and Megan as fairies.  The students go to Holy Names, Villa Acadmy, Roosevelt, SAAS, Laurelhurst, Evergreen, Seattle Academy, Bush, Hamilton, Blanchet, Garfield, U Prep, and Shoreline. 

Celeste, a former Villa Academy and Laurelhurst resident piano and voice teacher, told us that all of the cast members are in age-appropriate roles. Adult roles are played by professional, adult actors and younger roles are performed by highly-skilled, young, local performers.

She said the show will feature "dynamic acting, sumptuous numbers with breathtaking costumes, sets and props, aerial performances above our enchanted forest, fairy choral fantasies and magical piano escapades.  Audience members will be floating on air. Our version of this show is loved by teens, men, women and kids; everyone seems to adore it! Even our concession candy is themed."

The show will take place at Theater 47 in Sandpoint Magnuson Park. Tickets are $20 tickets: and can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets Event #: 385501. The show is suitable for ages 5 and up.

Theater 47 is located by going in the main entrance of Magnuson Park, then turning right on 62nd Avenue. The theater is one block down on the left.
