Wax Bar Skin Care Lounge Opens In Laurelhurst

The Wax Bar Skincare Lounge (4413 38th Avenue NE) recently opened its third Seattle location, this time in Laurelhurst.
The Wax Bar provides not only waxing services, but also four different types of facials and eye grooming. There is also a retail area offering among many other items, skin care lines, hostess gifts, cards and jewelry.
And the Skincare Lounges are also the only spa in the state with a liquor license to serve beer and ciders.
The website says:
The Wax Bar is a boutique skincare spa that provides Seattlites with a taste of the stylish and innovative boutique beauty lounges of South Beach, New York and LA.
The Wax Bar strives to create a fun and refreshing alternative to the region's typical spa experience by providing its clientele with the premium waxing and skincare services and products they would expect from a full-service spa, but in a more laid-back and intimate atmosphere.
The skincare lounge is owned by Mac and Karen Jahn, who live in Ballard. Prior to launching The Wax Bar’s first location in Ballard in 2007, Karen was an esthetician at Habitude Salon for 10 years. Karen still sees clients, while also acting as the day-to-day supervisor of the three locations, and Mac oversees the business operations.
Karen told us that she and her husband chose to open another location in Laurelhurst because it "is a bustling community, and our skincare lounge fits in seamlessly with the other independent retailers and restaurants in the area, a few of which are directly adjacent to The Wax Bar. Our  existing Laurelhurst clientele "have loyally made the drive to the Ballard location, and we thought Laurelhurst neighborhood would be a good fit for another location."
Karen added that "the Wax Bar is a great fit for women on-the-go who still want quality, customized experiences. Many of our existing clients, including those from the Laurelhurst area, maximize their time by having multiple purposes for each place they go. At The Wax Bar, they can not only get a service, but also shop for a gift or card, stock up on skincare, and even unwind with a beverage.
The Wax Bar is open Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with happy hour specials Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on a walk-in basis. It is located below Marlai Thai and across from Pro Arobics.

Laurelhurst Blog readers can mention "Laurelhurst Blog" and receive $20 off their first service at the new location through February 1st.
