Two New Websites Recommended By North Precinct Advisory Committee

The North Precinct Advisory Committee recommends two new websites to improve saftey of people and valuables.

North Precinct Advisory Committee is a group of community representatives from neighborhoods throughout North Seattle that meets with representatives from Seattle Police Department monthly on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 PM at North Seattle Community College to discuss crime prevention. Their meetings are open to the public.

Here are the websites:

The Reportit site lets you enter a list with valuables to help in informing the police of details or insurance provider of stolen items, in the event of burglary, increasing the chance to get the items back if the perpetrator is caught.

The website allows entry of serial numbers, item descriptions, pictures, and scans of receipts so that items can be easily identified,  in the event of theft or loss.

Smart911 is a 100% private, secure site, used by 9-1-1 centers and Emergency Management Agencies across the country to enter information to keep residents safe.  Information is only shared with Emergency Service Providers that have subscribed to the free service.

Once registration is complete registration, the ability to add additional users, pets and vehicle information is available.
