Update On Underground Electric Cable Replacement In South Laurelhurst

The Laurelhurst Community Club sent out this update from Seattle City Light on the underground electric cable replacment construction currently underway in South Laurelhurst:

Seattle City Light's contractor, KC Equipment LLC, is removing old 4,000-volt underground electrical cable in south Laurelhurst and replacing it with new, more reliable 26,000-volt cable. The entire area we will be working on is shown below.
We are currently finishing up work on the south end of 43rd Avenue NE. We anticipate moving next to NE 33rd Street. It will take approximately two to three weeks to complete work up to the intersection with East Laurelhurst Drive NE. After this section is completed, the contractor will then begin working north on East Laurelhurst Drive NE.
Approximately half of the project's construction is complete. We currently anticipate the contractor's construction work being entirely finished around March of 2013.

As detailed in previous mailings, temporary street, sidewalk, curb and planter strip restoration will occur as sections of work are completed. Permanent restoration will follow at a later date.
