A reader sent us this information about an opportunity this evening to meet the candidates for position 2 in the house races for the 36th and 46th legislative districts.
The new 46th District runs from Laurelhurst to Lake Forest Park and around the top of Lake Washington. The 36th covers Belltown to Ballard, Magnolia to Lake Union.
The meeting, to be held at Seattle First Baptist Church (1111 Harvard Avenue), starts at 6:30 p.m. with social time, following with the forum at 7pm.
The debates for the 1st Congressional District, the State Supreme Court candidates, and the Secretary of State will be broadcasted on KCTS Channel 9 July 25 -27th.
Also, new this year is Vote411, a one-stop shopping website for information about what will be on the ballo, hosted by the League of Women Voters Education Fund. The reader told us that all you have to do is put in your address and you’re told the candidates that will be on your ballot as well as the ballot measures. "And, there’s a slew of candidates in the primary!" he added.
Voter registration deadlines are by July 30th in person and the primary election will be August 7th.
