The information says:
Come learn specific steps to better prepare yourself and your household, plus opportunities to join current community preparedness efforts.
Presentations by Seattle Office of Emergency Management training specialist Tracy Connelly and Sustainable NE Seattle--Emergency Prep Guild Member Joann Kerr who will discuss the “Map Your Neighborhood” program, which includes designating a meeting place on your block/street for people and their neighbors to meet immediately after an emergency and then team up to do utility control, check for other neighbors who need first aid, etc.
And the final speaker will be emergency preparedness expert/Wedgwood emergency communications hub captain Theresa who will speak on community gathering posts, or hubs, as the Seattle Office of Emergency Management calls them. Here is a citywide map of hub locations. More NE Seattle hubs are in the works. Currently there is a hub in Wedgwood, and one being set up in Maple Leaf, of which both need more volunteers.
Please come, and bring your neighbors, co-workers, and friends! The better prepared we become, the more effectively we'll be able to respond and recover after a disaster. Free and open to all adults.
