Miller Library (3501 NE 41st Street), located in Laurelhurst, at the Center for Urban Horticulture is holding its monthly storytime on Saturday a 10:30am.  The theme is "Trees are Terrific!" and the information says "Trees are so important to our quality of life as city dwellers, and they mean the world to wildlife, too."

Books that will be read are:
LEAVES! LEAVES! LEAVES! by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace
THE BUSY TREE by Jennifer Ward
BUTTON, BUCKET, SKY by Jacqueline Briggs Martin

After the stories, everyone is invited to try making their own tree picture.

And it's also a good time to check out the latest exhibit, Honoring Trees, which runs through November 23 and features four Northwest artists – Jacqui Beck, Donna Leavitt, Cheryl A. Richey, and Elizabeth Reed Smith – who "create a range of realistic and abstract renderings of trees and share an interest in exploring and understanding their unifying symbolism."

There will be a public reception tonight to meet the artists featured in the Trees in Art – Group Exhibit and Honoring Trees from 5-7pm.

Learn more about the artists at their collective website.
