Landscaping Design Classes Start Thursday at UW Horticulture Center

UW Botanical Gardens (3501 NE 41st Street) is starting a Landscape Design series of classes with environmental horticulturist Nancy Tom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 8-27 from 7-9:30pm.

The description says:
Have you ever wanted to design your own landscape? This is a hands-on series to show you how to be your own landscape designer. In six sessions we will learn how to: develop a site analysis, measure, site a house on a plan, draw to scale, design workable hardscaping, consider color and texture, choose plants that are suitable for your soil, microclimate and home, lighting, drainage, trellises and arbors. This is an intensive session for those who want to do this project themselves. Each class will include a lecture and time to work in-class. First class is lecture only; we will discuss supplies at this class.

Nancy Tom is a licensed, bonded and insured Environmental Horticulturist who has been designing landscapes in the greater Seattle area for over 10 years.

You can register online or call 206-685-8033.
