Participate in Workshop Tomorrow to Help Make our Streets Safer

Tomorrow, Seattle Children's Hospital, Laurelhurst Community Club, the Seattle Community Council Federation, the Hawthorne Hills Community Council, the View Ridge Community Council and many others, are co-sponsoring "Livable Streets" a transportation workshop to explore future pedestrian and bike improvements for better accessibility and safety for surrounding neighborhood residents.

"We need you to help envision potential projects," the website says.

All ages are invited to participate in the workshop and there will be kid's activities, including free bike helmets with complimentary fittings. Other activites are bicycle and pedestrian safety information.

The funds that Children’s Hospital will be providing for the improvements are required by the City as mitigation for the impacts of the massive expansion that is now underway.

There are traffic, transportation infrastructure, and pedestrian and bicycle safety issues that Children’s must address as part of its recently approved Major Institution Master Plan.

Tomorrow's event is being held from 10-2pm at Gould Hall on the University of Washington campus.
