Tracey, a member of NE Seattle Moms Yahoo Group, has organized a special meeting tomorrow, Sunday, at 2pm to discuss ways the community can can work together to save the Laurelhurst Community Center.
She says in a message to member of the NE Seattle Moms Yahoo Group about tomorrow's meeting:
We will determine a strategy for sending a collective message to the city against the closure of LCC and it's important family programs.
There is much to do: make and distribute flyers, email/call/visits to council members, organize carpools to and speak at the upcoming city council meetings (Oct 13th at So. Seattle Community College and Oct 26th at Council Chambers downtown).
Sunday's meeting will be at the home of Jeannie Hale.
Her address is: 3425 W Laurelhurst Dr NE 9815 (corner of NE 35th and W Laurelhurst one block up from the lake on the corner).
To get to Jeannie's house, drive (walk or bike) down the boulevard (43rd Avenue) from NE 45th or NE 41st until the planted median ends. Go past the big pedestrian refuge island and veer to the left onto W Laurelhurst. The street curves around for a long block. She is on the next corner.
We hope to see you Sunday! If you can't make it but would still like to participate in these activities, please let me know.
Please contact us if you would like to be connected with Tracey.
