A reader sent us rave reviews of this little munchkin storytime she took her son to at the Community Center, led by Dena, Coordinator at the Center.
Dena reads a few books, has a variety of great crafts and takes the kids out on a short walk in the park.

Story Time at Laurelhurst CC -
Each week children will explore nature through stories, walks in Laurelhurst Park and through crafts.
Tuesdays 10:30-11:30 4/13-5/25
4/20 Earth Day
Kids will learn about recycling through interactive activities. Children will learn what a litterbug is. As we go on our walk, we will be on the lookout for litter. Sing a song about keeping the earth clean. Crafts will include recycled items. Please bring recycled egg cartons, juice lids, plastic containers, and toilette paper tubes to storytime. These items will be used to create art projects.
4/27 All about Bugs
Stories this week are all about bugs. Lady bugs, Crickets, Beas and more. We will explore the Laurelhurst Loop in search of bugs and try to collect them in our bug catcher. Children will get to paint bugs using big foam stamps, create works of art using our bug stencils and blow bubbles.
5/4 Rainbows, Raindrops and Wind
Learn how rainbows are made. Children will learn about the colors of the rainbow through songs, games and stories. Wind
can be fun! We will make rainbow wind socks and kites.
5/11 Caterpillars and Butterflies
Learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. We will practice being inchworms and learn about measurements. Get a butterfly
tattoo and create a butterfly.
5/18 Birds
We will learn all about birds and eggs. Kids will get to make and paint a bird house, create a bird mask and make a quacking duck!
5/25 Fantastic Rabbits
Learn about rabbits and where they live. Make bunny ears, go hopping down the bunny trail, make a paper sack rabbit.
