Magnuson Park Advisory Committee Seeking Members

"Seattle Parks and Recreation is establishing the Magnuson Park Advisory Committee to ensure broad citizen participation in current and future planning for Magnuson Park and the Sand Point Historic District.

Parks is seeking the names of citizens interested in serving on the committee," says the Magnuson website.

The deadline to submit nominations is December 21.

This 13-member committee will advise the Parks Superintendent on planning, development, construction, management and operation of facilities and activities.

Four members will represent community interests with this break-down:
*1 member appointed by the Northeast District Council representing neighborhood interests
*1 member appointed by MESA (Magnuson Environmental Stewardship Alliance) ·
*1 member appointed by Friends of Magnuson Park Liaison Committee
*1 member appointed by the Presidents of View Ridge, Windermere North Community Association, Laurelhurst Community Association and Hawthorne Hills Community Association

The public is invited to nominate an individual to serve on the committee. You can submit names of citizens interested in serving on the committee through this nomination form which then needs to be submitted to Rebecca Salinas, Partnerships Manager, Seattle Parks and Recreation, 100 Dexter Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109 or via email at rebecca.salinas@seattle.gov.

The Parks Superintendent will approve the nominations in early January.
