Only $2 To Try a Class At the Community Center


Seattle Community Centers are inroducing a new program called Try it for $2.

Between September 8th and October 2nd - you can try something new by attending a variety of classes by paying only $2 a class at Laurelhurst Community Center or any Community Center. If you like the class, register for the remaining course for a prorated amount. Some classes are not eligible. Programs that are full or have not met minimum registration are not eligible.

There are lots and lots of interesting classes coming up for all ages and interests.

Here are a few:

· Stories and More: An event for ages two to five on Tuesday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m. $2 per person activity fee. Join the storyteller for entertaining children’s stories followed by a fun craft project. Other storytelling events scheduled in the coming months.

· Magic Show: Fun for all ages on Friday, September 18 at 6 p.m. $3 per person activity fee. Check out George the Magician and witness some of his amazing magic. Show starts promptly at 6 p.m. so be sure to arrive a few minutes prior and get a seat.

· Toddler Tea Party: An event for ages four and under on Thursday, September 24 at 11 a.m. $2 activity fee. It’s time to get all dressed up in your fancy hats, shoes, gloves and jewelry. Bring your own teddy bear or dollie to sip and pour tea with your friend. Please register for this event by September 22.

Teen Programs:

· Drop-in Basketball Wed 4-5 p.m.
· Wii Wednesdays 5:30-7:30 p.m.
· Teen Cooking Fri 4:30-6 p.m. *preregister $3
· TGIF for Teens Fridays 4-8:30 p.m.

The Center is open from 1 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
