Neighborhood Painter "Refreshing the Community"

Randall Reed (owner) with the Green Painter Man

The last Laurelhurst Newsletter had an article about our neighborhood painter, Reed Painting, and how they are giving back to our community through offering to do neighborhood sprucing up projects. Our staff contacted them to find out more about this and their motivation in wanting to give.

Cole, from REED Painting tells us, "The Laurelhurst community has been one of our major supporters throughout the past six years. We’ve provided services such as: exterior & interior painting, dock & deck refinishing, pressure washing and Christmas light installations. The majority of our customers are either repeat or referral so we’ve managed to establish a positive reputation amongst residents.

The Laurelhurst community has stood by us despite the recent downturn in the economy and we are extremely greatly for the business. In return, REED Painting Co. would like to provide various community projects to the neighborhood."

REED painting is open to any suggestions regarding various community projects around the neighborhood including tasks such as: painting of curbs, light posts, graffiti areas, benches and playgrounds, or pressure washing of various hard surfaces.

At the last LCC Board meeting, a few suggestions related to the elementary school was discussed, but nothing solidified as of yet. So keep in mind an projects you might have for REED Painting, as we do see a lot of graffiti around the school and in the park.

REED Painting would also be open to working with the PTA at Laurelhurst Elementary on various tasks around the school.

REED Painting Co is currently holding their 1st Annual “Paint Out Cancer” fundraiser this summer. "We are giving our customers the opportunity to match our contribution of $100 to the Children’s Hospital by donating their $100 cash back option that they receive at the end of each project towards the treatment of cancer patients at the hospital.

Cancer has directly affected various employees at REED Painting Co and we would like to show our support in whatever way possible. We hope to establish this as an annual event each summer, our busiest time of year."

In the fall, REED Painting will be conducting their annual “Paint Drive” where they will be collecting residents unused paints for free and donating them to various organizations around the area. This will help in the recycling and proper disposal of household paints for our customers. This is a great idea to get rid of unused paint sitting around.

"We hope to be known as the neighborhood painter in Laurelhurst. No job is too small for us and we pride ourselves in craftsman painting and customer service," says Cole.

"REED Painting Co. looks forward to continue serving the Laurelhurst Community."

Please feel free to contact REED Painting with any projects you might have to keep our neighborhood looking great. They are up to the task!

Thanks REED Painting for your neighborhood community service - not only giving back by staying on top of projects to "refresh our community," but your additional great ideas - the fundraiser and paint drive.

This is a great service that this company is offering. I hope neighbors will take him up on his offer. Always seems like there is graffiti somewhere near the park and school. Nice of him to offer his time.
