Wondering about all the Dead Fish?

What's going on with all the hundreds and hundreds of little dead fish at all the beaches? A Laurelhurst lifeguard said they filled up an entire garbage can with the fish and "we just can't keep up." Let's hope nature takes care of this soon so everyone can enjoy the water.

Dead fish in Lake WA prompt concern

KING
SEATTLE - The Department of Ecology says it's been getting phone calls inquiring about tiny, dead fish showing up in Lake Washington. KING 5 has also gotten calls from concerned Seattleites. It seems shocking, but biologists say it's just nature doing its thing. "There is a 3-inch fish called the stickleback that spawns and dies this time of year," said Larry Altose, public information officer for the Department of Ecology. He goes on to say you can identify the Lake Washington Stickleback by three dorsal spikes on its back. That's what inspires its name. People in the Seattle area are involved with nature and its creatures, so they're noticing the dead fish. Some are concerned that pollution is killing them, but it's not the case.
