6 houses for sale on one block!

If anyone has driven on 45th Ave NE (Mc Mansion Row as some call it) there are count them 5 houses for sale all in a row. All priced around $1.3 million. Four are very large new construction homes. This block of land only had 3 houses on it originally....before they were all torn down. Neighbors tried to salvage as much of the beautiful vegetation, trees and plants there instead of letting it all get hauled off to the dump.

So the houses are really squeezed in there. Two houses were built on a lot and a half. One has had a "Sold" sign up for a few weeks now, though there is no sign of anyone moving in. And the other 3 new construction homes have a "Price Reduced" sign on them. Check one of them out here.

The builder lived in the northern most house of the lot. It is very fancy and even has an elevator in it. Word has it that he has moved out and gone to Arizona. He was originally from Snohomish.

The 5th house, closest to NE 50th was lived in for years and years by an elderly couple. Neighbors say the woman has recently moved into a retirement home. Interesting a house directly across the street from these houses (a very beautiful older home) also recently for sale, sold in less than a month, even though the new construction home blocked their view of the mountains.

And the 6th home just came on the market. It is just a few houses south of the McMansions. Beautiful Tudor home, built in 1928, 4 bedrooms and a beautiful side yard for $849,000.

So these houses sit, going on many many months now. Oh and add to that one more new construction home finished last December as well, just one block south of this block of for sale homes.
