Two Laurelhurst Moms To Be Guest Bartenders At 50 North Restaurant Tonight



Don't  miss tonight at the popular 50 North Restaurant (5001 25th Avenue NE) where two Laurelhurst Moms will be featured at the restaurant's monthly guest bartending event starting at 6pm.

The second Thursday of every month is guest bartender night at 50 North and Kelly with the restaurant says that "some of our wonderful customers and community members are selected to step behind our bar for an evening to serve and entertain the guests for the benefit of their selected charity."

Tonight is a special event because itis the first ever all-women guest bartending crew and it is a benefit for the Susan G. Komen Foundation as October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

One of the moms is Alli Sweet who has three boys at Laurelhurst Elementary, and who is a regular volunteer at the school. Alli says on the restaurant website that her mother passed away from breast cancer on the day that her middle son was born – same hospital, 5 floors apart  In memory of her monther, Alli colors her hair pink every October with the hope of finding a cure for breast cancer.

The second Laurelhurst mom and guest bartender is Kristen de Pew, who has two boys at Laurelhurst Elementary. She says that "upon entering the Laurelhurst elementary community, I began to learn of more women who had battled or were currently in their fight with breast cancer.

In June, Curt O'Connor, a Laurelhurst resident, was a guest bartender at the restaurant.
